Former SCGA stars David Berganio, Jr., Chris Riley and James Oh were among 28 golfers who earned 2009 PGA Tour cards after surviving 108 holes in six days at PGA West’s Jack Nicklaus Tournament and Stadium courses.
Berganio, the 1991 and 1993 U.S. Amateur Public Links and 1993 Pacific Coast Amateur champion and who has battled back injuries for years, closed with rounds of 69-68-65 over the final three days to finish tied for seventh at 21 under par. Oh, the 1998 U.S. Junior Amateur champion, also tied for seventh, closing with rounds of 69-68. Riley, the 1992 CIF-SCGA High School champion, finished with rounds of 67-69-69 and made the cut right on the number, 19 under par.

LPGA Q-SCHOOL
On a day when Michelle Wie made all the headlines by finished tied for seventh at the LPGA Q School finals, former UCLA star Charlotte Myorkas and Los Angeles' Anna Rawsom also earned full exemption on the 2009 LPGA Tour.
Playing on the Champions Course at LPGA International,
Myorkas finished tied for 10th despite closing with a 2-over-par 74. She finished with 75-67-66-69-74 — 351,
under par over the five days, which were split between the Champions and
Legends courses. Rawsom shot
71-71-68-71-71 — 352, 8 under par and tied for 12th.
Wie shot 69-65-72-67-74 — 348, 12 under par, and tied for seventh. She plans on returning to Stanford for the winter quarter and then playing a full schedule on the 2009 LPGA Tour.
Former University of Arkansas star Stacey Lewis was medalist after shooting 69-66-71-67-69 — 342, 18 under par, and was medalist by three shots. Lewis had to go through Q School despite finishing third in the 2008 U.S. Women's Open because the LPGA doesn't count Open winnings as official money earned for non LPGA members.
The top 20 players at the conclusion of the event earned Priority List Category 11. In the Players finishing in the 21st through 30th spots earned Priority List Category 16, followed by 31st to 40th, who received Priority List Category 20.
